We want you to have a great first experience with us. Walking into a church for the first time can seem overwhelming. We know...we've all done it! This page is meant to help you know what to expect when you visit us. Hopefully, you find it helpful!
WHERE ARE YOU?
For starters, here is a map with directions to the church. (Click our location on the map to get turn-by-turn directions.)
Our address is:
1801 Daniels st. Vancouver WA 98660
- Parking in the front of the building is generally reserved for visitors (so finding a spot shouldn't be a problem) but there's a parking lot at the back, as well.
- When you walk into the building our genuine hope is that the first thing you see is a friendly face.
WHEN ARE SERVICES?
Sunday service begins at 10:30. Occasionally we have a meal together after service, you are welcome to join us!
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?
We are a friendly group of people, most of us adopt a Northwest Casual attire on Sundays. Some dress up a bit more and others do not. Wear whatever is most comfortable for you. Our music is contemporary and we enjoy coffee and bagels together every week.
WHAT ABOUT MY CHILDREN?
We love kids at New Hope! We are a family friendly environment. There are Kids classes from Birth through Elementary (5th grade). One of our friendly ushers will happily show you the way to the children's wing. Birth through three year olds can sign in to the nursery up to 10 minutes before service starts. Preschool and elementary age students begin service in the main meeting and then are excused to their classes at the fellowship break. Main service lasts about 35-40 minutes more and then we ask parents to come pick up their children.
WHAT ABOUT YOUTH?
Pastor Christy Myhre heads up our Youth Department. We encourage all Jr. High and High school students to join us in the main service on Sunday mornings. Sunday nights during the school year, the Jr. High and High School hang out and challenge each other to know God's word and to walk it out in faith together. Come join us.
WHAT ELSE SHOULD I KNOW?
Wednesday is Family Night during the school year from 6:30-8:00. This service meets at the church in multiple small group settings. Currently, we are offering a community bible study on the book of John. Come join us downstairs in room 201, (the old youth room) for Java and Jesus. Elementary students from Kindergarten-5th grade are invited to participate in our AWANA program. AWANA focuses on developing young people through fun and competitive games, working through a handbook to earn badges ( like a Bible-memorization based boy scouts club) and a fun teaching time just for them. There are opportunities for our youth to volunteer and serve throughout the church. See Pastor Graham for details or call, 360-696-0715.
